Some words are meant to be read. Others are meant to be lived.
“Some words are meant to be read. Others are meant to be lived.”
— Dr. Christine Rudolph
Words have fascinated me for as long as I can remember.
Some words make us smile.
Some make us remember.
Some make us wonder.
And every now and then, a few words find their way past our ears and into our hearts.
Those are the words that stay.
We can read about faith and still live in fear.
We can speak of forgiveness and still carry yesterday’s hurt.
We can admire courage while allowing hesitation to hold us still.
We can seek wisdom and never give it permission to change the way we live.
I have learned that there is a difference between knowing a truth and allowing that truth to shape the way we live.
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…”
— James 1:22 (KJV)
Sometimes living the Word does not look dramatic.
It looks like choosing kindness when sharp words would be easier.
It looks like being faithful when no one is applauding.
It looks like forgiving when the memory still hurts.
It looks like waiting when you would rather rush.
It looks like trusting God when you cannot yet see what He is doing.
I have come to believe that much of our transformation happens quietly—not in giant leaps, but in small truths faithfully lived.
A little more patience.
A little less fear.
A little more grace.
A little less pride.
One wiser choice.
One faithful step.
And over time, what we once only read begins to take root in us—and becomes something we actually live.
Words can fill a page.
But when they fill your heart, lived words can change a life.
Read the truth.
Receive the truth.
Live the truth.
Then let your life tell the story.
